Shribhoomi: The villagers of Model Village Krishnanagar under Dargarband GP near Dulabhchhada of Ramakrishnanagar assembly constituency of Sribhoomi district have been facing the problem of electricity for a long time. The main demand of the villagers is that old electricity wires in the area should be removed and electricity supply should be arranged through cable lines.

Villagers say that due to the large number of bamboo thickets and trees in the area, the power lines get damaged even with the slightest wind, storm or rain. People have to face a lot of trouble due to frequent fuse blowing and power supply interruption. At the same time, at many places in the village, the electric wires are hanging very low and at many places these wires are close to the reach of people's hands. Due to this, there is a possibility of a serious accident occurring at any time.

Villagers claim that the electricity department employees were informed about this problem several times, but till now a permanent solution has not been found. According to villagers, old wires passing over electric poles often come in contact with trees, plants and bamboo branches. Even when there is light wind, a technical fault occurs in the line, due to which the 440 volt power line is affected and the power supply of the entire village is disrupted.

Due to irregular supply of electricity, students' studies, household work and other important works are being adversely affected. In such a situation, the villagers have once again strongly raised the demand of providing electricity connection through cable line in Model Village Krishnanagar. In this regard, the villagers have drawn the attention of Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Vishwa Sharma and the concerned SDO of Dullabchhachha office of Assam Power Distribution Company Limited (APDCL) and appealed to take necessary steps immediately.

Villagers say that if cable lines are arranged in the area, then the problem of frequent power interruptions as well as the risk of possible accidents due to hanging power wires will be reduced to a great extent. The villagers of Model Village Krishnanagar hope that the officials of Dullabchhada APDCL and the SDO of the electricity department will take their age-old demand seriously and take necessary action as soon as possible and provide a permanent solution to the electricity problem of the area.
