India showcased an outstanding performance at the ongoing World Boxing Cup Stage 2 in China, securing six medals, which include four finalists and two bronze medals after the semi-final matches held on Saturday. Jyoti (48kg) led the team with a hard-fought 3-2 victory against Mexico's Fatima Herrera, earning her place in the finals. Herrera, a strong competitor, had previously won a historic silver medal at the World Boxing Cup Brazil 2026 after moving to the 48kg category, making Jyoti's victory particularly noteworthy.

Continuing India's impressive streak, Minakshi (51kg), currently ranked number one in the 48kg category and competing in a higher weight class, delivered a commanding performance. She defeated Spain's Laura Fuertes Fernandez with a unanimous 5-0 decision, securing her spot in the finals, as reported by the Boxing Federation of India (BFI).

Prachi (57kg) also shone brightly, achieving a confident 4-1 victory over France's Amina Zidani to advance to the gold medal match. Prachi has been in excellent form, having previously defeated a bronze medallist from the Paris Olympics in the quarter-finals.

Men's Category Success

In the men's division, Deepak (70kg) maintained India's dominance with a decisive 5-0 win against France's Makan Traore, ensuring his place in the finals.

Bronze Medals Secured

India confirmed two bronze medals as Jugnoo (85kg) and Nikhil (55kg) exited in the semi-finals. Jugnoo lost 0-5 to France's Junior Tadah, while Nikhil faced a similar fate, going down 0-5 against Lorenzo Patricio from the USA.
