Manchester United are reportedly exploring the possibility of signing Eduardo Camavinga from Real Madrid as part of their ongoing efforts to strengthen their midfield. Journalist Miguel Serrano has revealed that the Premier League club have made enquiries regarding the French star’s availability and the potential terms of a transfer.
Juventus are also believed to have shown interest, while Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) are keeping a close watch on the situation, considering a move to bring the midfielder back to France.
Reports indicate that Real Madrid have valued the 23-year-old at around €60 million. Although Camavinga has been a key part of Carlo Ancelotti’s plans, the Spanish giants are said to be more open to discussions about his future than in previous seasons.
This development could be significant for United. A player of Camavinga’s calibre—combining youth, elite experience and versatility—rarely becomes available for such a fee.
United’s midfield is currently undergoing major changes. Casemiro is set to depart at the end of the season after the club reportedly decided against triggering the option to extend his contract, according to Reuters.
Additionally, Manuel Ugarte could be on his way out, and The Guardian reports that United are actively pursuing two new midfield signings during the upcoming transfer window.
Camavinga would be an ideal fit for this restructuring. Capable of operating as a defensive midfielder (No.6), a central midfielder (No.8), or even as a left-back when required, he offers tactical flexibility that would enhance the team’s balance.
His dynamic energy, ability to carry the ball, and Champions League pedigree would instantly elevate the technical and physical standards of United’s midfield unit.
However, Real Madrid remain in a strong negotiating position. Camavinga’s current contract runs through to 2029, and there is no indication that the player himself is pushing for an exit.
As such, any deal would require United to persuade both Real Madrid and Camavinga to agree to a move. Nevertheless, this represents precisely the type of opportunity United should explore.
At a valuation of €60 million, Camavinga appears to be a more viable target compared to some of the other midfielders linked with the club this summer.
For now, discussions are understood to be at an early stage. But if Real Madrid are genuinely open to offers, Manchester United may need to act swiftly before PSG or Juventus escalate their interest into concrete bids.
