Punjabi singer Inder Kaur was found dead nearly six days after she allegedly went missing following an abduction in Ludhiana, leaving her family and local residents in shock. Her body was recovered from the Neelo canal and later identified by relatives at the Civil Hospital in Samrala. The case has drawn attention after the singer’s brother claimed that she was kidnapped at gunpoint by a man whose marriage proposal she had rejected. The family also alleged that the accused fled to Canada after the incident.

Inder Kaur death reason: Singer disappeared after stepping out of home

According to reports quoting her brother Jotinder Singh, Inder Kaur had left home around 8:30 pm on May 13 in her Ford Figo car to buy groceries from the market. Hours passed, but she did not return, prompting the family to launch a search.

During their efforts to trace her, the family reportedly found links between the singer and Sukhwinder Singh alias Sukha, a resident of Bhalur village in Moga district.

A police complaint was later filed, and an FIR was registered on May 15 against Sukhwinder Singh and his associate Karamjit Singh.

Family claims rejected marriage proposal led to crime

As per reports,Jotinder Singh alleged that Sukhwinder Singh wanted to marry his sister, but she had refused the proposal. He claimed that the accused became upset over the rejection and later abducted her at gunpoint along with his associates.

The family alleged that the singer was later murdered. They also claimed that Sukhwinder Singh escaped to Canada after the crime and had travelled to Punjab from Canada before the incident.

Inder Kaur's body found in Neelo canal

The mystery around the singer’s disappearance took a tragic turn when police received information about a body being found in the Neelo canal.

SHO Balbir Singh of Jamalpur police station said a police team rushed to the spot and later called the family for identification. Relatives confirmed that the body was that of Inder Kaur.

Her body has now been kept at the Civil Hospital in Samrala.

Police investigation underway

Police officials said the investigation into the case is ongoing. Authorities are examining the allegations made by the family and trying to establish the sequence of events that led to the singer’s death.
