As the warmer weather rolls in, more of us are heading outdoors to make the most of the sunshine, and picnics are one of the easiest (and cheapest) ways to enjoy it. With that in mind, shoppers are snapping up a budget-friendly picnic backpack that's been earning rave reviews online.

The VonShef Picnic Backpack (£22.99, Amazon) comes packed with everything two people need for dining alfresco. It includes dining essentials such as plates, stainless steel cutlery, cotton napkins and even two wine glasses, making it ideal for park dates, beach trips or countryside walks.

There's also an insulated cooling compartment to help keep snacks and drinks fresh while shoppers are out and about. Plus, it has handy side pockets for extra storage, including bottles and small essentials.

It should also be comfortable to carry thanks to its padded shoulder straps and compact design. The design itself comes in a sleek grey colour, making it a versatile pick.

For those in the market for larger picnic bags, this option from Argoscan hold up to 32 litres. Plus, it's affordable at £16, though it doesn't include cutlery and plates.

Otherwise, this Polar Gear Picnic Trolley Cooler from Robert Dyas is currently on sale for £29.99 from £39.99. It keeps food cool for up to five hours, and comes with two wheels and an adjustable telescopic handle to make it easy to transport.

As mentioned, though, the VonShef Picnic Backpack has received some great feedback from Amazon shoppers. This person shared: "Excellent, perfect for picnics, but also using it for swimming stuff in the cooler part, with the other separate compartment for purse, phone, etc. (when picnic items are not required). Extremely well made, perfect size, very comfy straps, just what I was looking for."

Meanwhile, a second piped up: "Well made, comfortable to carry and a good size for two people. Keeps drinks and food chilled for a long time."

However, this three-star review reads: "I don't like the plates as they are thin plastic and I doubt if they will last long."

On a brighter note, this VonShef fan noted: "We bought this because we wanted a bag where we could easily store plates, cutlery, for camping. It fits the bill beautifully. The cutlery plate compartment is well organised, with velcro and elastic straps that seem robust, and we have added salt and pepper."

"We liked the fact that the plates were not ceramic and the glasses were simple plastic tumblers, as we think they will be more robust. The inner compartment has room for extras. All in all, delighted with the purchase, which is attractive and good value."
