Queen Elizabeth II made a "sweet gesture" to Meghan Markle on her wedding day on this day in 2018. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex tied the knot in a lavish ceremony in Windsor - with the late Queen making sure that one very important figure in her new granddaughter-in-law's life was present on the special day.
The late Queen was spotted in a car on the way to the wedding venue with Meghan's beloved beagle, Guy. A video shared on social media shows the adorable pup looking out the window of a Range Rover as the pair made their way to St George's Chapel.
Royal fans have appeared to reminisce on the sweet video, with one fan taking to X to comment: "The Queen did something for Meghan that she has never done for any family member before. Escorted Meghan's dog Guy to the wedding. Such a sweet caring gesture from the Monarch."
Commenting on the video, another fan added: "Guy looking out the window [laughing-face emoji]."
Another added: "[Elizabeth II] did a proper decent thing that day."
Following news of his death last year, fans took to social media to share how much the late Queen clearly adored Guy.
One fan commented: "Dogs know. They see our true nature. Of course they loved her."
Meghan announced the sad news of Guy's death following her return to Instagram last year.
Alongside a sweet tribue to Guy, Meghan's caption read: "...Thank you for so many years of unconditional love, my sweet Guy. You filled my life in ways you'll never know."
The post also included clips of Guy with her children, Prince Archie, seven, and four-year-old Princess Lilibet.
