E-Clutch Bike: Honda Motorcycle has announced the addition of new E-Clutch technology to its mid-size adventure touring bike Honda NX500. The company claims that this technology will make riding more easy and comfortable during heavy city traffic and long highway journeys. With the help of new technology, the need for the rider to press the clutch again and again will be significantly reduced.
How does E-Clutch technology work?
- Honda’s new E-Clutch technology automatically controls the clutch through electronic sensors and control systems. The system operates the clutch automatically while starting the bike, changing gears and stopping. The rider can change gears only with the help of the gear lever without pressing the clutch manually.
- This technology works according to throttle, engine speed and gear position. When the bike stops, the system disengages the clutch so that the engine does not stop. While changing gears, it disengages the clutch for a while and then engages it again, which makes gear shifting smooth.
Engine and Performance
Honda NX500 has a 471cc liquid-cooled parallel twin engine, which comes with a 6-speed gearbox. This engine delivers excellent torque at low and medium speeds and also performs well on the highway. The company has kept its ex-showroom price at Rs 7.43 lakh.
Features and Design
The new NX500 has a steel diamond frame, Showa upside-down front suspension and adjustable monoshock suspension. For braking, dual disc brakes and dual-channel ABS are available. The new bike has features like 5 inch TFT display, Honda RoadSync connectivity, navigation, call and music control. Apart from this, Honda Selectable Torque Control and full LED lighting is also available in it. The company is offering it in two color options: black and white.
