New Delhi, 24 May. There are signs that the crisis that has been going on in West Asia for the last three months will be averted. Under this, America and Iran are close to an agreement in which there is talk of a 60-day ceasefire and opening of the Strait of Hormuz. US President Donald Trump also hinted at the possibilities in his Truth Social post. At the same time, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Ismail Baghei also gave positive signals by saying ‘work on the MoU continues’. Meanwhile, a report is talking about ’60 day deal’.
Important points of possible agreement
According to the report of American website Axios, the US and Iran are very close to signing an agreement that includes a proposal for a 60-day ceasefire extension. During this period the Strait of Hormuz would be reopened, Iran would be allowed to sell oil freely and negotiations would be conducted on limiting its nuclear program. This information has been given by quoting an American official.
Hormuz will be open without any toll charges during 60 days
According to media reports, under the MoU, Hormuz will remain open without any toll charges during these 60 days. Iran will also agree to remove sea mines (mines) that it has reportedly laid, so that the movement of ships can continue normally.
America will also lift its sanctions imposed on Iranian ports
Under the proposed agreement, the US will in return lift its sanctions imposed on Iranian ports and waive some sanctions, allowing Iran to sell oil freely. The draft agreement also includes Iran’s commitment that it will never try to acquire nuclear weapons. Additionally, it will negotiate suspending its uranium enrichment program and removing its stockpile of highly enriched uranium.
The conflict between Israel and Hezbollah will also be ended
The report also said that under this agreement the conflict between Israel and Hezbollah will be ended. However, if Hezbollah initiates or conducts an attack, Israel would be allowed to retaliate.
If Hezbollah remains silent So Israel will also remain calm
The American official said, ‘If Hezbollah remains calm, Israel will also remain calm. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has his own domestic political concerns, but Trump has to think about the interests of America and the global economy. According to the report, Netanyahu expressed concern over several issues in his conversation with US President Donald Trump on Saturday.
According to Axios, Iran has given verbal assurances to the US through intermediaries about the extent to which it is willing to make concessions on stopping uranium enrichment and giving up nuclear material. The report said the US would also agree to negotiate the lifting of sanctions on Iran and the release of its frozen funds during a 60-day period.
Agreement can be announced soon
The American official expressed hope that this agreement could be announced soon. According to the report, if Tehran accepts Trump’s demands to its nuclear program, then there may be an opportunity to ‘reset’ relations between the two countries and Iran to reach its full economic potential.
