There are only three players from the Big Six clubs in this season’s top ten list of Premier League market value increases. However, it wouldn’t be surprising if a few more of these rising stars are snapped up by the league’s richest sides this summer. The top teams are unlikely to sit back while smaller clubs enjoy the benefits of effective scouting and development.
Players with identical rises in value have been ranked according to percentage increase, with all data sourced from Transfermarkt. As a result, the figures are presented in euros rather than pounds.
Among players who netted more than 10 Premier League goals this season, only Igor Thiago (26%) had a higher conversion rate than Kroupi’s impressive 25%. Even Erling Haaland managed only 21%.
Kroupi’s 13th goal of the campaign not only sealed the Premier League title for Arsenal but also broke the long-standing record held by Robbie Fowler and Robbie Keane for the most goals scored by a teenager in their debut season. Arsenal are interested but will need to shell out far more than €40m.
Arriving from Vasco da Gama in January to replace Antoine Semenyo, he wasted no time making an impact—scoring five goals and earning a spot in Brazil’s World Cup squad. Bournemouth have now overtaken Brighton as the masters of smart transfers in the Premier League.
It was clear from the start that he was worth much more than the €18m Newcastle paid for him, and he has arguably been their standout performer in an otherwise disappointing season.
There’s no doubt about his talent, but Nottingham Forest might benefit from the so-called English player premium this summer, with Manchester City reportedly ready to pay a staggering £100m. Is he as good as Declan Rice? Not quite.
Six goals and three assists represent a modest return for a player of Ndiaye’s calibre, and Everton could face pressure this summer from a bigger club that believes he can easily double those numbers. Possibly Manchester United?
His market value peaked at €70m in November 2022, and there’s every reason to believe the 26-year-old can reach or surpass that figure again—provided he stays fit and Chelsea rediscover their sense of direction.
Calling O’Reilly a left-back doesn’t do him justice. He performs all the defensive duties of that position with excellence, yet he also frequently emerges as Manchester City’s most potent attacking threat in a team overflowing with offensive talent.
A classic centre-forward, he bulldozed his way to 22 goals in what was effectively his first full Premier League season after missing most of the previous one through injury. You get the feeling he was mildly irritated to end up with one assist instead of none.
Seventeen Premier League goals across spells with Bournemouth and Manchester City have significantly boosted his stock. City could easily sell him now for more than his current valuation, though they seem convinced—like many observers—that Semenyo’s full potential is still untapped.
It seems the analysts at Transfermarkt may have been somewhat kind to Newcastle, as this massive value surge came right after they panic-bought a striker for €80m—just weeks after Bayern Munich had offered €55m for the same player.
The tall German forward’s market value actually peaked at €70m in December following a solid return of seven Premier League goals in 14 matches. It has since dipped slightly to €65m—still a very respectable figure, perhaps too generous—despite scoring only once more in a debut season many would label underwhelming. That’s still an increase of €35m.
