Delhi: Former Indian team batsman Ambati Rayudu has been given the important responsibility of Head of Cricket Operations in Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA). The tenure of 40-year-old Rayudu will be for three years and he will start working on this post with immediate effect. Before this, he has also captained the Hyderabad team, due to which he has a good understanding of the local cricket structure.

Rayudu shared his happiness through social media and said that Justice P. Naveen Rao, M. Jeevan Reddy and Apex Council have entrusted him with this responsibility. He said that this is a proud moment for him and he will work hard to improve the functioning of the organization. He also expressed confidence in the talent present in the young players of Hyderabad and Telangana and said that more players from here can reach the Indian team.
International career of Indian batsman
Ambati Rayudu’s international career was full of ups and downs. In ODI cricket, he scored 1694 runs in 50 innings of 55 matches, in which his average was 47.05. During this period he also scored three centuries and ten half-centuries. However, after not getting a place in the 2019 World Cup team, he decided to retire. Later he tried to make a comeback, but could not play for the Indian team again. His performance in T20Is was limited, where he scored only 42 runs in six matches.
Strong contribution in IPL
Rayudu’s performance in IPL was quite impressive. He represented teams like Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings. He scored 4348 runs in 187 innings of 204 matches, which included one century and 22 half-centuries. He is one of the few players who had the distinction of being a part of the teams that won the IPL title five times – thrice with Mumbai and twice with Chennai.
