Blackpool now has a brand new installation that has been added to one of its best-known landmarks, introducing a romantic feature inspired by iconic cities around the world. A new love lock installation has been installed on Blackpool's Central Pier, giving visitors the chance to leave a lasting symbol of their visit in a way that has become popular in destinations such as Paris, New York City and at some spots in London.
The eye-catching structure is a large red heart, designed as both an art piece and an interactive attraction. Before the two sides of the heart meet, the design carries two separate messages: one half reads "Heart of Central Pier," while the other says "We Love Central Pier."

Couples and visitors are invited to attach engraved padlocks to the heart frame.
Padlocks can be purchased from the pier's ride ticket boxes for £5 each, and only locks these are permitted to be added.
The heart has been positioned to perfectly frame Blackpool Tower in the background, giving visitors a scenic spot to capture photos and remember their trip.
Blackpool Central Pier wrote in a Facebook post: "Love is in the air with Love Locks! Grab a love lock from our ride ticket boxes and lock in those memories with your loved ones.
One person wrote on Wednesday in the comments: "We're coming on Friday and it's our 20 year anniversary so will defo be doing this."
Another person said: "Blackpool is where I found my teen love after nearly 35 years so defo want to buy 1 for here."
The pier features a variety of attractions including Blackpool's famous Big Wheel. Standing at roughly 108 feet high, the wheel is often the first thing people look for when they hit the Promenade.
