WhatsApp Down In US: Users Report App Not Working, Unable To Send Messages
The popular global instant messaging application WhatsApp experienced a significant outage, leading to disruptions for users worldwide, including those in India.
Several users said that they were unable to use the Meta-owned app, as per DownDetector which tracks outages by collating status reports from several sources including user-submitted errors on its platform.
Data on the DownDetector showed that WhatsApp was inaccessible for over 9,000 people at around 9.20pm.
Outage Sparks Meme Fest
While many were busy trying to make the app work, microblogging aficionados were the ones furiously typing out jokes and memes and those were the best. From hilarious memes to jokes about Mark Zuckerberg, a series of posts took over the X in a couple of moments.
A user wrote, “Everyone arriving at X to see if WhatsApp is down.”
A user wrote, “WhatsApp is down, X is up.”
Users also took to X (formerly Twitter) to report the issues they were experiencing with WhatsApp with one posting, “Stop toggling your Airplane mode on/off. Stop refreshing your WhatsApp. It’s not your network, WhatsApp is down.”
