State Bank of India (SBI) has issued a notification regarding the temporary unavailability of certain digital channels on March 23, 2024, due to scheduled maintenance activities. According to the information provided on the SBI website, services such as Internet Banking, Yono Lite, Yono Business Web & Mobile App, YONO, and UPI will not be accessible between 01:10 Hrs IST and 02:10 Hrs IST on the aforementioned date.

During this period of downtime, customers will still have access to services such as UPI Lite and ATM transactions. UPI Lite is a newly introduced payment solution designed to facilitate low-value transactions below a specified limit, leveraging the NPCI Common Library (CL) application.

According to the SBI's circular, "Due to scheduled activity, the services of Internet Banking, Yono Lite, Yono Business Web & Mobile App, YONO and UPI will not be available between 01:10 Hrs IST and 02:10 Hrs IST on 23rd March 2024. During this period, services of UPI Lite and ATM will be available"

To enable UPI Lite, users are required to follow a simple process outlined by SBI. Firstly, users must open their UPI App and navigate to the home screen where they will find the option to enable UPI Lite. After accepting the terms and conditions, users can proceed to enter the desired amount to be added to UPI Lite and select the respective bank account. Finally, users will enter their UPI PIN to successfully enable UPI Lite.

Transactions using UPI Lite are conducted seamlessly by following a few steps. Users need to open the app, select the payment option, enter the desired amount, and complete the transaction without requiring a UPI PIN.

It is important to note that during any potential change of mobile device, users must ensure the balance from UPI Lite is transferred appropriately to avoid any disruptions in transactions.
