England took firm control of the third and final Test against Pakistan at Edgbaston, finishing the opening day with a 23-run first-innings lead after bowling the visitors out for 133. Pakistan’s innings lasted only 33.5 overs, with Josh Tongue taking four wickets, while Ollie Robinson and Jofra Archer claimed three each.

Pakistan slipped to 26 for four early in the innings, with Saud Shakeel offering the main resistance with 43. Mohammad Abbas added 21, but England’s pace attack kept the pressure on throughout.  

England also suffered an early wobble, losing three wickets for 39 runs. Debutant Pakistan pacer Razaullah impressed on his Test debut, dismissing Joe Root for eight and later breaking the fourth-wicket stand by removing Emilio Gay for 60.  

Gay and Harry Brook, however, turned the innings around with a 104-run partnership. Gay struck nine fours in his 60, while Brook remained unbeaten on 52. England reached 156 for four in 39 overs at stumps, with a 23-run lead and six wickets in hand.
