The Premier League have confirmed the shortlists for the Player of the Month and Manager of the Month awards for August.
Although the 2026/27 season has only just got underway, the first individual honours of the campaign are set to be handed out, with the August awards to be decided through a combination of public voting and expert judgement.
Chelsea have two players in contention for the August Player of the Month prize, with both Cole Palmer and Joao Pedro making the shortlist for the Blues. They are joined by Arsenal defender Riccardo Calafiori, Manchester City’s Rayan Cherki and Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes. Newcastle United striker Yoane Wissa has also been included among the nominees.
Another eye-catching inclusion is new Brentford signing Mamadou Sangare, while Konstantinos Tzolakis, another summer arrival, has also earned a place after joining newly-promoted Hull City.
Hull’s strong start to the season has also been recognised in the managerial category, with Tigers boss Sergej Jakirovic named among the four contenders for the Manager of the Month award.
Joining the Hull manager on the shortlist are Arsenal’s Mikel Arteta, Chelsea’s new coach Xabi Alonso and Manchester City manager Enzo Maresca.
The winners will be announced on Monday, 7 September.
