Chelsea have officially confirmed the permanent signing of highly rated Brazilian youth international Denner from Corinthians. The gifted 18-year-old full-back has committed his long-term future to the Stamford Bridge club by putting pen to paper on a contract running until 2034, further boosting their youth ranks soon after the end of a hugely expensive summer transfer window.

Chelsea confirm Denner arrival

After the summer transfer window shut, Chelsea announced Denner Alves' arrival through their official website. The 18-year-old left-sided defender joins from Corinthians and will go straight into the club's newly rebranded Cobham Next Gen squads.

An official club statement said: "Chelsea is pleased to confirm the signing of Denner from Brazilian side Corinthians, with the full-back signing a contract until 2034." The London side have landed one of South America's brightest young prospects, with Denner joining a youth setup that had already welcomed Harrison Bettoni and Alfie Osborne earlier this summer.

Denner impresses for Corinthians and Brazil

Denner entered the Corinthians youth system at the age of 13 and rapidly moved up through the ranks. Last year, the teenager was one of the standout performers as Corinthians' Under-20 side finished runners-up in the Sao Paulo Youth Cup.

Across that tournament, Denner scored three goals and registered two assists, including the opening goal in the final against Sao Paulo. Away from club football, the full-back has also made his mark internationally. He is a Brazil youth international and played an important role in the Under-17 team that won the South American Under-17 Championship in 2025.

Family connection to Arsenal defender

As per reports in the Brazilian media, Denner is a cousin of Arsenal centre-back Gabriel Magalhaes. If the young full-back goes on to mirror his relative's Premier League success, Chelsea may have secured an outstanding talent. The move rounds off a busy summer for Chelsea, who have spent more than £300 million on signings such as Morgan Rogers and Maxence Lacroix. At the same time, the club have brought in around £400m through sales. A major chunk of that total came when Enzo Fernandez joined Manchester City on deadline day in a huge £125m transfer, with Tosin Adarabioyo and Marc Guiu also departing.

What next for the youngster?

The 18-year-old will now start adjusting to English football by training with Chelsea's Cobham Next Gen squads. The young defender will look to settle quickly into his new surroundings and catch the eye of the academy coaches. If his development continues at the same pace, the Brazilian may soon challenge for chances with the senior side and could even come up against his cousin in future London derbies.
