New Delhi, September 1 (IANS). Another big flight is ready for India's space mission. Union Minister of State Jitendra Singh informed that the GSLV-F17/EOS-05 mission will be launched on September 4. He shared this information by posting on 'X'.

GSLV-F17 is the 19th flight of India's Geosynchronous Satellite Launch Vehicle (GSLV). The payload fairing of GSLV-F17 is a 4 meter diameter Ogive (composite) version. This rocket will place the EOS-05 satellite in a sub-geosynchronous transfer orbit. The launch will be conducted from the Second Launch Pad (SLP) of Satish Dhawan Space Centre, SHAR.

EOS-05 is a state-of-the-art Earth Observation spacecraft. It is India's first imaging satellite from geosynchronous orbit. It is also known as GISAT-1A. The weight of this satellite is 2,367 kg.

Its main objective is to provide near-real-time, high-resolution imaging of the Indian subcontinent, which will be of great importance for disaster monitoring, agriculture and national security.
