Competition with Fortuner?
In India The Kia Sorento is expected to compete with Toyota Fortuner, Jeep Meridian and other premium 3-row SUVs after its launch. But the Sorento's monocoque platform and hybrid powertrain will set it apart from conventional body-on-frame SUVs like the Fortuner. The decision to offer both hybrid and diesel options could be significant for the Sorento. Especially since it will get 4WD with the hybrid, it can be a different option for premium SUV customers.
How much will the price be?
Kia is yet to announce the official India price of the Sorento. The price claim of Rs 28 to Rs 30 lakh cannot be considered certain at the moment as there are different estimates in various media regarding the price. The Sorento's official price, variants and full India-spec features are expected to be revealed at the time of launch. After the Sorento enters the Indian market on September 4, its price will be the most important factor.
