Brydon Carse Handcuffed: England fast bowler Brydon Carse has become the subject of an ECB investigation after footage emerged showing him in handcuffs outside a nightclub in Derby on Saturday night. Video published by The Telegraph on social media appears to show the 31-year-old pacer surrounded by police officers outside the venue. England teammates Matthew Potts and former captain Ben Stokes can also be seen in the footage. The circumstances surrounding the incident remain unclear, including why Carse was detained and whether any action was taken by police. No further details about the incident have been established.

ECB Responds To Carse Incident

The England and Wales Cricket Board stated that it is looking into the matter.

"We are aware of an incident which is reported to have taken place in Derby last night, and are currently investigating. We will provide a further update when possible."

Carse was not selected for England's opening Test against Pakistan at Headingley. He had instead been released by the ECB to represent Durham in the County Championship.

Despite missing the first Test, Carse remains part of England's squad for the second match of the series at Lord's, which is scheduled to begin on Thursday. It remains to be seen whether the incident will have any impact on his availability.

Incident Puts England’s Conduct Policy Under Spotlight

The development comes at a sensitive time for English cricket, with the team's approach to alcohol and player behaviour having already attracted scrutiny in recent months.

Ben Stokes was involved in a separate nightclub incident in London just a few weeks ago with Gus Atkinson. Both players were subsequently omitted from England's squad for the second Test against New Zealand while the ECB reviewed its alcohol policy.

Stokes returned for the third and final Test and continued as England captain, but later announced his retirement from international cricket.

Carse's alleged involvement in another incident therefore comes as England continues to assess how its players conduct themselves away from the field.
