Sai Sudharsan has been ruled out of the upcoming two-Test series against Sri Lanka starting August 15. The No.3 batter hasn’t recovered from his toe injury and will take no part in the bilateral assignment against the Island Nation. He was working on his rehabilitation at the CoE in Bengaluru, and the medical panel was hopeful of him getting fit for at least one game, but the recovery is taking more time than expected.
He was in sensational form in the India A vs Sri Lanka A series and played a crucial role in his team’s win. The visitors will feel his absence, considering his display against the spinners.
He is the second high-profile player to be ruled out after Jasprit Bumrah, who is also out of action after suffering a knee injury in the England ODI series.
