Their goal is to make fresh and nutritious meals available in 30 seconds, making healthy eating accessible for office workers and people with busy lifestyles.

Lamba and Bhalla started Green Gains in March 2025 by investing Rs 1 Crore from their own savings and financial support from their families. Around 40-50% was used to buy the vending machines and 30% was spent on creating and testing the menu.

The remaining amount went towards setting up the kitchen, staff, renting spaces and installing the machines. The founders are now aiming to earn Rs 50 Lakh during the current financial year.

Revealing the reason behind starting Green Gains, Lamba, in an interview with Startup Pedia, said, “Young Indians do want to eat healthily, but the ecosystem around them is not built for that. They want to track their protein, for instance. But every salad they look for on an online food ordering app is either too expensive to be chosen for lunch every day or is too complicated in terms of ingredients.”

“Add to it a long delivery time of 30 to 45 minutes and the burger that promises to be at your desk in 15 minutes wins the battle. This is the exact gap that we set out to solve – for healthy eating to be fast, affordable, and simple.”

Around 2025, Bhalla and Lamba became more focused on fitness and started following healthier lifestyles. During that time, they realised it was not easy to find healthy food that was fresh, tasty, affordable and available quickly.

This inspired them to create a more affordable way for people to eat healthy.

Lamba said that the team spent several months studying how vending machines and food delivery systems work in different countries. They then changed and improved those ideas to suit Indian eating habits, so the service will be more useful for customers in India.

Green Gains currently operates seven healthy salad vending machines across Gurugram. These machines are installed at locations including DLF Cyber Hub, DLF Infinity Towers, Pioneer Square and Osttra India.
