While many stars congratulated Spain on its historic victory, others expressed sadness over Argentina’s loss and what many believe could be Lionel Messi’s final appearance on football’s biggest stage.

Actors, singers, and social media personalities took to Instagram and other platforms to celebrate the thrilling final, with opinions divided between admiration for Spain’s outstanding performance and sympathy for Argentina and its legendary captain, Lionel Messi.

Actor Adnan Siddiqui congratulated Spain on becoming world champions while also adding his trademark humor to the occasion. In an Instagram post, he praised Spain’s performance and joked that the match felt like “comparing Wi-Fi to dial-up,” suggesting that Spain had been the superior side. He also humorously remarked that if Argentina had won, Egypt would have unfollowed football for a week, adding a lighthearted twist to the post.

Talha Chahour also reacted to the final by sharing his thoughts on social media. Referring to Messi, he joked that “FIFA’s favourite child didn’t get the favour today,” accompanied by a laughing emoji. Chahour also posted a picture of Spanish star Lamine Yamal, saying he looked forward to seeing the young footballer once again raise the Palestinian flag, expressing support for Yamal’s pro-Palestinian stance.

Actors Danish Taimoor and Arslan Naseer joined the celebrations by congratulating Spain on winning the World Cup. Arslan Naseer added humor to his message by jokingly asking whether the Argentina team had come to compete or simply to watch the match.

Actress Zara Noor Abbas celebrated Spain’s victory by sharing a selfie with the World Cup final playing on her television screen, where Spanish star Lamine Yamal was visible in the background. Singer Asim Azhar also reacted to the result, writing that while Messi deserved to win, Argentina as a team did not.

Later, Asim Azhar shared a photograph from Barcelona, revealing that although England had been his favourite team during the tournament, he had recently visited the Spanish city and was pleasantly surprised by its large Pakistani community. He congratulated both Spain and the Pakistani community living there on the country’s World Cup success.

For Messi’s supporters, however, the final ended in disappointment. Singer Samar Jafri had publicly backed the Argentine captain before the match, posting, “One last time! Let’s go, my king.” After Argentina’s defeat, he congratulated Spain on its victory but also shared an emotional photograph of Messi lifting one of his previous trophies, describing him as “the greatest ever to step onto this field.”

Actress Sajal Aly also expressed her disappointment through a series of Instagram Stories. In one post, she wrote, “Spain without the S,” humorously conveying her sadness over the result. She later shared a montage of Lionel Messi’s career with the caption, “Our childhood ends here,” reflecting the emotions of millions of football fans who grew up watching the Argentine legend. She also reposted a heartfelt fan tribute thanking Messi for the unforgettable memories he created throughout his remarkable World Cup journey.
