Roma are intensifying their efforts to strengthen their attacking options as they prepare for an extensive revamp ahead of the upcoming season. The Giallorossi have renewed their pursuit of Alejandro Garnacho and remain firmly interested in Crysencio Summerville, aiming to assemble a squad capable of competing at the highest level.
For Roma, Garnacho continues to be a primary target. The Serie A side have been active in the transfer market, and according to reports from Calcionews24, they have recently re-established contact regarding the Chelsea youngster. This move underlines their ambition to bring the Argentine international to the Stadio Olimpico. Although convincing Chelsea to part with such a promising player will be challenging, Roma’s management believe the deal, while complex, is achievable and would significantly enhance the team’s technical quality.
Garnacho joined Chelsea from Manchester United in the summer of 2025 for a transfer fee close to £40 million, signing a long-term contract until 2032. However, his debut season at Stamford Bridge did not go as planned. The Argentine winger made 43 appearances across all competitions, netting eight goals and providing four assists, as Chelsea endured a disappointing campaign that saw them finish tenth in the Premier League. Despite flashes of brilliance, the 20-year-old found it difficult to secure a regular starting role, often being used as a substitute and facing fierce competition for minutes in a turbulent first year in London.
In parallel, Roma are also advancing talks for Crysencio Summerville. The Dutch winger, currently under contract with West Ham United until 2029, featured in 34 matches across all competitions last season, contributing seven goals and five assists. Despite his efforts, the Hammers were relegated to the Championship. Summerville is highly regarded by Roma for his technical skills, youth, and developmental potential, and he has emerged as one of the top names on their shortlist as the club ramps up contacts to progress negotiations.
Roma’s recruitment strategy aims to bring in at least two wide players this summer. This means that pursuing Summerville does not rule out a simultaneous move for another high-profile winger. In fact, the possibility of securing both Summerville and Garnacho remains on the table, though it is not guaranteed.
Meanwhile, speculation linking Roma with Atletico Madrid’s Nahuel Molina has been dismissed. The Argentine full-back is currently focused on the upcoming World Cup final, and Roma are prioritising attacking wingers rather than defensive wing-backs.
Similarly, reports suggesting interest in Fiorentina’s Dodo have been denied, with club sources confirming that such a move was never considered. Roma’s leadership is maintaining a focused approach, ensuring their transfer budget is directed exclusively toward the profiles requested by manager Gian Piero Gasperini.
Under Gasperini, Roma are determined to build on last season’s remarkable third-place finish in Serie A. This achievement secures their long-awaited return to the UEFA Champions League for the first time since the 2018–19 campaign, marking an important milestone as the club looks to re-establish itself among Europe’s elite.
