Potassium level from 4.3 to 2.9

According to the letter, Wangchuk’s potassium level had dropped from 4.3 to 2.9 during a check-up at 4.16pm on July 17, according to the hospital’s medical team on Saturday morning. Questions have also been raised regarding this sudden deterioration in his health.

Accused of not providing medical report

He also claimed that the regular doctor who has been monitoring Wangchuk’s health for the past 20 days has not been allowed to see him.

Tight security outside the hospital

Sonam Wangchuk was admitted to Safdarjung Hospital after her health deteriorated during the fast. Security has since been increased in the Jantar-Mantar, hospital premises and surrounding areas. Additional contingents of Delhi Police and paramilitary forces have been deployed and barricades have been set up at several places.

New Delhi DCP Sachin Sharma said that as per the directives of the Delhi High Court and on medical advice, Sonam Wangchuk has been admitted to a government hospital and is undergoing treatment.

According to the police, while being taken to the hospital, some protesters tried to obstruct the procedure. However, the entire operation was carried out peacefully. Also, the police have denied the allegations of lathi charge or use of force on the protesters and clarified that no one has been detained. The police have also appealed to vacate the Jantar-Mantar area peacefully.
