Dhamtari's PACS drone model received national recognition at the 17th Foundation Day celebration of CSC in Kolkata. Initiatives like drone service, digital crop survey and farmer registration were appreciated.

Raipur. The innovative 'PACS Drone Model' initiative of Dhamtari district of Chhattisgarh got special recognition in the national program organized at Dhonho Dhanyo Auditorium, Kolkata, West Bengal on the occasion of 17th Foundation Day of Common Service Center (CSC) e-Governance Services India Limited. During this period, innovations like drone services, digital crop survey and farmer registration operated through Primary Agricultural Credit Societies (PACS) in the district were appreciated by experts from across the country. Shri Dilip Ghosh, Minister of Panchayat and Rural Development, Government of West Bengal participated in the program as the chief guest.

PACS Drone Model: Drone technology in agriculture becomes new identity of Dhamtari

During the national function, Chief Executive Officer of District Panchayat Dhamtari, Shri Jayant Nahata participated in the panel discussion organized on the topic 'Agriculture Upgradation through PACS'. He presented a detailed plan to expand drone services in rural areas and develop PACS as 'One Stop Rural Service Centre'. He said that at present, liquid fertilizers are being sprayed with the help of drones in the fields of farmers through 10 primary agricultural credit societies of Dhamtari district. This initiative is considered to be an important and innovative system of its kind in Chhattisgarh.

Digital Agriculture: Farmers will get modern services at one place

Shri Nahta said that in the coming time, there is a plan to provide agricultural mechanization, digital services, crop survey, farmer registration, banking facilities and other essential services to the farmers at one place through PACS. This arrangement will further strengthen the reach of modern agricultural techniques in rural areas. Also, farmers will be able to easily avail the benefits of technology based services without any additional hassle.

Modern Farming: Technology will increase farmers' income and reduce costs

Experts and speakers present at the program said that the increasing use of drones and digital technologies in the agriculture sector is playing an important role in increasing the income of farmers, reducing the cost of farming and strengthening the rural economy. He said such initiatives can form the basis of future smart farming and will help connect farmers with modern farming systems.

CSC National Event: VLEs doing excellent work also honored

CSC-VLEs (Village Level Entrepreneurs) who did better work were also honored in the national function. Additional Chief Secretary, Information Technology and Electronics Department, Government of West Bengal, Secretary, Ministry of Law and Justice, Government of India and Mr. Akhil Kumar, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of CSC e-Governance Services India Limited, along with senior administrative officers and CSC representatives from across the country were present in the program.
