They quickly extended their advantage after the break with goals from Vishal Yadav (46') and Singamyam Shami (48'). Although Kitakyushu's Haruto Jyo scored in the 62nd minute, Punjab's strong defense secured their victory.

FC Goa faced a tough challenge against Avispa Fukuoka at the GSA Stadium, ultimately losing in a tense penalty shootout.
