A shocking case of a 37-year-old woman being cheated by an impostor has come to light in Bengaluru. The Tantrik tricked the woman into solving her daughter's marital problems and on the pretext of performing a special puja, he made away with 43 grams of gold and cash worth Rs 1.3 lakh.

The thug had frightened the woman so much that out of fear she did not even touch the bundle in which she had kept the jewelery and cash for two days. The police have now registered a case against the accused and have intensified their search for him.

The woman came in contact through a neighbor

According to the Indian Express report, the police said that there were some problems going on in the in-laws house of the victim's younger daughter. Meanwhile, a neighbor introduced him to a person named Shivakali alias Nitin. The neighbor claimed that this man had spiritual powers and could solve even the biggest domestic problems.

The fake Tantrik told Geeta that her daughter's life was in danger and someone had done deadly magic on her. To avert this crisis, he asked for a special puja to be performed at the woman's house on Friday. Also instructed that no one else should be present in the house during the puja.

This game was played during the puja drama.

On June 26, around 4 pm, the Tantrik reached Geeta's house and started the ritual while reciting mantras using lemon, ash, turmeric, fenugreek seeds and other things.

In the middle of the puja, he asked Geeta to bring all the gold and cash kept in the house. He said that for the safety of the daughter, these things have to be kept in special puja.

The victim, following Baba's advice, kept Rs 1.3 lakh meant for repairing the house and 43 grams of gold jewellery, which included gold chains, bangles and rings, in a cloth bag.

Escaped after showing fear of 'vomiting blood'

According to the victim's complaint, during the ritual, the impostor baba took out ashes from his bag and threw them on Geeta, bent her head downwards and hit her on the back. He then gave the woman a stern warning that if she tried to open the cloth bundle before two days, she would "vomit blood and die." Out of fear, Geeta did not open the bundle and taking advantage of this, Baba ran away with the jewelery and cash.

Police is actively searching

An FIR of fraud has been registered against Shivakali alias Nitin at Bagalkunte Police Station in Bengaluru. A police officer said, "The accused has absconded with jewelery and cash under the pretext of performing puja. Intensive efforts are being made to trace the accused and arrest him."
