The Chief Minister of Kerala, V. D. Satheesan, officially launched the Onam Bumper Lottery on Thursday in Thiruvananthapuram. The event took place during a brief ceremony held at the Chief Minister's office.
This year, the lottery's grand prize has been set at an impressive ₹30 crore, marking the highest amount ever offered in its history. In a post shared on Facebook, Chief Minister Satheesan highlighted that this is the first time the lottery's top prize has reached such a significant figure.
He also announced that ticket sales for this bumper lottery will commence across the state starting July 20. The Onam Bumper Lottery holds considerable significance in Kerala, and last year, the first prize was ₹25 crore. The increase to ₹30 crore this year reflects the government's commitment to public welfare and the expansion of the lottery department.
