Tiruppur, 11 July 2026: Six members of a family were killed in a head-on collision between a car and a diesel tanker lorry near Uthukuli in Tiruppur district of Tamil Nadu.
A woman was seriously injured in this accident and is undergoing treatment in a government hospital. According to the police, the family members had gone from Selamana Swaminathapuram to Palladam area to attend the funeral of a relative.
The accident occurred near Kakkapallam near Uthukuli when the family was returning to Salem. Police had said that a diesel tanker truck going from Vijayamangalam towards Uthukuli had allegedly hit the family’s car.
Local residents saved the seriously injured Hema. He was taken to a nearby hospital for first aid and then admitted to a government hospital for further treatment. After getting information about the accident, the police reached the spot, took custody of the dead bodies and sent them for postmortem.
Police have registered the case and started searching for the tanker driver, who allegedly fled from the spot after the collision.
