The Men's Selection Committee has officially announced that Prince Yadav and Ravi Bishnoi will step in as replacements for the injured Harshit Rana and Varun Chakaravarthy in India's ODI and T20I squads, respectively. The unfortunate injury setbacks occurred during the third T20I against England at Trent Bridge. Rana experienced sudden discomfort in his right hamstring, and subsequent scans confirmed a Grade 1 strain, ruling him out of the upcoming ODI series against England.
He has been directed to report to the BCCI Centre of Excellence for rehabilitation and further assessment. Meanwhile, Chakaravarthy suffered a more severe Grade 2 hamstring injury in the same match, which has forced him to miss the T20I series against Zimbabwe. He too will undergo recovery at the BCCI COE. In response, Prince Yadav has been drafted into the ODI squad, which is now led by Shubman Gill and features stalwarts like Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, and Shreyas Iyer.
Ravi Bishnoi, the leg-spinner, has been added to the T20I squad captained by Shreyas Iyer, which also includes young talents like Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, Abhishek Sharma, and Tilak Varma. The updated ODI squad also retains key players such as KL Rahul, Ishan Kishan, Washington Sundar, Axar Patel, Kuldeep Yadav, Jasprit Bumrah, Prasidh Krishna, Arshdeep Singh, and Gurnoor Brar.
The T20I squad features a mix of experience and youth, including Shivam Dube, Suryansh Shedge, Rinku Singh, Harsh Dubey, Yash Thakur, Ashok Sharma, Mayank Yadav, and Prabhsimran Singh. Both replacements are expected to join the respective squads immediately as India looks to maintain balance and depth despite the injury blows.
