OFF THE BAR!!

Norway almost grabbed a second goal when Kristoffer Ajer’s header struck the crossbar after he connected with a loose ball inside the box.

Appeals for a penalty were dismissed, but Ståle Solbakken’s team looked capable of scoring again if England did not tighten up defensively.

Antonio Nusa earned a corner for Norway after weaving his way into the six-yard area.

Norway countered swiftly down the right after Marc Guéhi lost possession to Erling Haaland in midfield, but the move fizzled out when Oscar Bobb took the wrong option after entering the box.

Antonio Nusa and Oscar Bobb replaced Andreas Schjelderup and Alexander Sørloth for Norway.

England made a substitution of their own, with Reece James coming on for Anthony Gordon, while Eberechi Eze switched to the left flank.

Play paused for the second hydration break, with Norway confirming a double change before resumption.

Earlier, Julian Ryerson was forced off for Norway and replaced by Fredrik Aursnes at wing-back.

The situation was comfortably managed by England’s defence this time.

NORWAY DENIED BY VAR!

Torbjørn Heggem thought he had scored his first international goal, but VAR intervened, ruling that Haaland had pushed Elliot Anderson in the build-up. The goal was disallowed, though Norway retained their corner.

Ryerson’s inswinging delivery deflected off John Stones for another attempt.

Martin Ødegaard’s corner toward the near post was cleared by Harry Kane; Norway recycled possession, and Haaland’s header forced Jordan Pickford into a fine save, conceding yet another corner.

Norway continued to press and won another corner.

CHANCE!

Since coming on, Bukayo Saka had been heavily involved. The Arsenal winger cut inside and looked for goal, but his attempt was blocked by Norway’s defence.

Eze’s follow-up effort deflected off Gordon and went out for a goal kick.

England soon earned a free kick after the restart, with Eze and Kane standing over it.

PLAY RESUMES

The second half began, promising another 45 minutes of tense action.

England made two substitutions before the restart: Noni Madueke and Declan Rice were replaced by Bukayo Saka and Eberechi Eze, completing what manager Thomas Tuchel jokingly called an ‘Arsenal swap’.

Could this be the turning point that ends Norway’s World Cup dream?

Interestingly, some sections of England fans had questioned Bellingham’s inclusion in the starting XI earlier in the tournament.

HT: NORWAY 1-1 ENGLAND

The mid-half hydration break appeared to rejuvenate both sides, as Norway and England each found the net before the interval.

Harry Kane came agonisingly close to putting England ahead, only to be flagged offside moments before Jude Bellingham could slip him through.

Everything remained level at halftime, setting up a thrilling second half.

GOAL!!!!! NORWAY 1-1 ENGLAND

England hit back through Jude Bellingham! Anthony Gordon raced down the left, cut inside to evade Ajer, and squared the ball for Bellingham, who calmly took a touch and slotted past Ørjan Nyland.

CHANCE!

Norway immediately responded with attacking intent. Sørloth surged into the final third, with Haaland timing his run, but the Atlético de Madrid striker’s shot was blocked by John Stones.

Andreas Schjelderup’s reputation continued to grow after his brilliant earlier goal. Norway pressed again, nearly doubling their lead before England managed to hold firm before the break.

GOAL!!!! NORWAY 1-0 ENGLAND

What a strike from Andreas Schjelderup! The Norwegian youngster unleashed a thunderous left-footed effort that soared beyond Pickford into the top-right corner to open the scoring.

CHANCE!

Haaland rose highest to meet Ryerson’s cross, forcing Pickford into an excellent save. Moments later, a poor defensive pass nearly gifted Haaland a one-on-one opportunity, but England escaped unscathed.

A huge relief for the Three Lions, who then regained control of possession.

Norway cleared after Declan Rice’s uncharacteristically poor corner, while England continued pressing forward through Anthony Gordon’s bursts down the flank.

In the opening 10 minutes, Norway had the better attacking moments, though no clear chances were created.

KICK-OFF

Under the Miami floodlights, Norway looked to spring a surprise against England, who were chasing their second World Cup crown.

With the teams ready, the anthems concluded and the match got underway.

The last time these sides met, Wayne Rooney was the only scorer; England would gladly take a repeat 1-0 result through Kane tonight.

Haaland’s meteoric rise this summer was perhaps inevitable — just ask İlkay Gündoğan.

In what promised to be a tense quarter-final in Miami, several England players were walking a disciplinary tightrope with potential semi-final suspensions looming.

Jordan Pickford marked a milestone night, becoming England’s most-capped World Cup player with his 18th appearance, surpassing Peter Shilton and Harry Kane.

🚨 STARTING XIs CONFIRMED

As expected, Erling Haaland led the line for Norway, supported by captain Martin Ødegaard, who had been in superb form for Arsenal after a stellar 2025/26 campaign.

Ødegaard had faced criticism earlier in the year despite guiding Arsenal back to major honours, but this summer he has led Norway brilliantly, determined to reach the semi-finals.

England, meanwhile, entered the tie eager to banish decades of knockout-stage heartbreak as they sought to end a 60-year wait for a second World Cup triumph.

Fans braved the Miami heat as both teams prepared for what promised to be a captivating clash featuring Premier League stars on both sides — Haaland, Kane, and many others.

Our live coverage continued throughout the evening, leading into Argentina versus Switzerland later on.
