Kota News : A stone-pelting incident has occurred at a restaurant in Kota's Landmark City area, in which the restaurant owner has accused a policeman of the incident. An ASI has been charged in the case.
ASI suspended for pelting stones at restaurant
These days, the coaching town of Kota is in the news more for its police officers than for its criminals. Once again, the police uniform has come under scrutiny. The city was shaken after a policeman's name surfaced in an incident of stone-throwing at a restaurant in the Landmark City area. Serious allegations have been leveled against ASI Ved Prakash, posted at the Kunhadi police station. Following the emergence of live footage of the incident, City Superintendent of Police Tejaswini Gautam suspended ASI Ved Prakash with immediate effect.
The restaurant owner accused the policeman of the incident.
It is reported that a stone-pelting incident occurred at the restaurant on the night of July 4th. The entire incident was captured on CCTV cameras installed there. The footage shows a man approaching the restaurant, throwing a stone, and then fleeing the scene. Following the incident, the restaurant owner filed a complaint at the Kunhadi police station, accusing a policeman of perpetrating the incident. The incident, and the CCTV footage going viral, sparked a stir within the police department.
ASI Ved Prakash suspended
City SP Tejaswini Gautam has taken the matter seriously and suspended ASI Ved Prakash. Currently, the Kunhadi police station is investigating the entire incident and trying to determine the motive behind the stone pelting. This matter has once again become a topic of discussion in Kota, as when such allegations are leveled against those who are supposed to uphold the law, public trust is bound to be questioned.
