BCCI Review Meeting After IND vs ENG Series: The BCCI is preparing to take major action following the India vs England series. A review meeting may be held after the series.
BCCI is preparing to take major action
Nearly four months ago, India became the T20 World Cup champions for the second consecutive time. Now, that same team is yearning to register a win. The BCCI may take strict action against the team's poor performances in Ireland and England. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is planning to review the team's performance. BCCI Secretary Devajit Saikia said the board is concerned about the team's performance in the T20Is.
Under Shreyas Iyer's captaincy, Team India lost the series against Ireland 0-2. Then, in the series against England, they are trailing 0-3 after four matches. This performance is also a cause for concern because before the UK tour, the Indian team had won 16 consecutive T20 series.
BCCI will crack down after the England tour
According to India Today, BCCI Secretary Devajit Saikia stated clearly that the board is concerned about the team's performance. He stated that after the England series, a meeting will be held with the coach and captain to review the performance. An attempt will be made to identify where the problems lie and what improvements can be made.
Gautam Gambhir's position is under scrutiny, while it's being reported that Shreyas Iyer's captaincy is in the pipeline. Iyer, who replaced Suryakumar Yadav as the new T20 captain after the 2026 T20 World Cup, is also a source of concern for the team. Meanwhile, Tilak Verma, who has been appointed vice-captain, has failed to reach 20 runs four times in his last six T20 innings.
Zero wins, captaincy in danger
Shreyas Iyer's captaincy career began with the UK tour. First, Team India was defeated 2-0 by Ireland. This was the first time in international cricket that Ireland had won a series against India. Then, in the series against England, Team India is trailing 0-3 after four matches.
