Mbappé Believes France's Current Squad Has Its Greatest Potential

Following France's 2-0 victory over Morocco to reach the FIFA World Cup semifinals, Kylian Mbappé shared an honest assessment of the current French national team, praising its potential despite believing it is not the strongest squad he has represented.
"This France team is not the strongest one I have played with, but it is the one with the most potential," Mbappé said after the match. "The best teams are the ones that win."
His comments highlight the balance between experience and promise within the current squad. While previous French teams featured more established stars and veteran leaders, this generation is built around a younger group of players who continue to develop together on football's biggest stage.
Despite its relative inexperience, France has impressed throughout the tournament with disciplined defending, efficient attacking play, and strong teamwork. Mbappé has remained the team's key figure, delivering decisive performances while helping guide the younger players around him.
The attacking unit has also provided plenty of support. Ousmane Dembélé, Michael Olise, Bradley Barcola, and Désiré Doué have all contributed with goals, creativity, and pace, giving France multiple ways to threaten opponents.
Mbappé also emphasized that success ultimately defines a great team. Rather than focusing on individual talent or reputation, he believes trophies are what determine how a generation is remembered.
With France now just two victories away from another World Cup title, the squad has an opportunity to prove that potential can be just as valuable as experience. If Les Bleus continue their winning run, this young team could secure its place among the most successful eras in French football history.
