Are you also troubled by the mathematics of 28 days of mobile recharge? Do your incoming calls stop once your recharge is over? Now this issue has reached Parliament. Sharp questions have been raised to the government regarding this burden on the common man’s pocket and the practices of the telecom companies.

When the recharge is over, is it all over? The arbitrariness of the companies will no longer be acceptable.

In Parliament, Aam Aadmi Party MP Raghav Chadha has strongly advocated for prepaid mobile customers. He has raised questions on the policy of telecom companies that even incoming calls are stopped as soon as the validity of recharge ends. He has directly termed it as arbitrary with the customers.

While presenting his views in the House, Raghav Chadha said that if the recharge ends, then it is understandable to stop the outgoing calls, but it is not at all appropriate to stop the incoming calls. Due to this people have to face a lot of problems. Neither is anyone able to call them nor can they get OTP for bank transactions or other important works. He clearly said that in an emergency situation this rule can make people helpless. Their demand is that the incoming facility should remain operational for at least one year so that the ‘Right to Communication’ is not violated.

28 day recharge plan a big fraud?

MP Chadha also strongly attacked the recharge cycle of 28 days. He has called it a fraud on the customers. Their argument is that there are 12 months in a year, but due to the 28 day plan, customers have to recharge 13 times in a year, which is an additional burden on the common man’s pocket. He has demanded that the validity of the recharge plan should be fixed according to the calendar month i.e. 30 or 31 days.

Mobile is now a necessity, not a luxury

Concluding his talk, Raghav Chadha stressed that in today’s time, mobile phone is not a luxury but has become a basic need of the common man. In such a situation, telecom companies should deal with customers in a completely transparent and fair manner. It remains to be seen how long this demand raised in Parliament brings any relief to the common customers.
