Manchester United have yet to officially confirm any new signings this summer, but sources suggest that as many as three new arrivals could be announced over the coming weekend.

The Red Devils have finalised an agreement with Chelsea for Andrey Santos, a move that has reportedly pleased INEOS. The Brazilian midfielder is said to have already passed his medical examination.

According to reports, a deal has also been reached with free agent Karl Darlow. The Welsh goalkeeper is expected to step in as the backup to Senne Lammens, replacing Altay Bayindir in that role.

Interestingly, the first agreement Manchester United secured this summer was for Ederson, following a recommendation from the departing Casemiro to INEOS.

The Brazilian midfielder had previously undergone a hurried medical assessment in the United States during the World Cup period, but the Old Trafford hierarchy were reportedly unsatisfied with the results.

This led to growing speculation that the proposed transfer for the Atalanta player might collapse.

Ederson is now in Manchester completing the second part of what has been described as a "thorough" medical evaluation.

Journalists Ben Jacobs and Fabrizio Romano have both confirmed the ongoing process, while Gianluca Di Marzio has added that the tests are scheduled to take place over two days, concluding on Friday.

Fabrizio Romano reported, “Ederson is in England over the next few HOURS for new medical tests with Manchester United. Only after the second round of medicals will United give a response on whether or not they will proceed with the €45m deal.”

According to Di Marzio, “The countdown to Ederson’s transfer to Manchester United is now underway. After Brazil’s elimination from the World Cup, the midfielder is ready to say goodbye to Atalanta and Italian football.

“Tomorrow, Friday, July 10th, the player will complete the next two days of medical tests he’s undergoing in England. If everything goes well, then everything will be ready for the signing and the official announcement.”

United supporters will be hoping Ederson successfully passes his medical, as manager Michael Carrick is keen to bring in three new midfield signings to strengthen the heart of his team.
