But some readers praised Hanoi food as the best choice.

Some readers recommended to try local street food with caution.

“As someone who used to go to Saigon routinely in the past I was strongly advised by local colleagues to avoid street food unless it was on their personal approved list. Bad sanitation, fake ingredients, rancid oil, etc were all too common but unless you had personal insight of who was good and who wasn’t it was a risk not worth taking,” reader smokinhops wrote.
