Belgium registered a spectacular victory of 4-1

Talking about the match, Belgium entered the quarter-finals of the FIFA World Cup 2026 with an impressive 4-1 win over the hosts United States at the Seattle Stadium. Charles de Ketelere won the Player of the Match award by scoring two goals, while Hans Vanakan scored his first FIFA World Cup goal and substitute Romelu Lukaku scored in stoppage-time to seal the win. This was Lukaku's goal in his third consecutive World Cup match.

Despite the United States briefly equalizing on Malik Tillman's deflected free-kick, Belgium dominated for most of the match.

A costly goalkeeping mistake from Mats Freese gave Belgium the chance to extend their lead, before Lukaku finally sealed a stunning victory.
