Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) Sarsanghchalak Mohan Bhagwat said that the people who came to India from Pakistan at the time of partition in 1947 were not refugees, but they were warriors of the struggle. They endured immense suffering and pain because of their love and affection for their motherland and religion.

Mohan Bhagwat said that out of love for the motherland, these people decided to leave the property, land and business acquired by the hard work of their ancestors in Pakistan and come to India. Mohan Bhagwat was addressing the 75th foundation day celebration of Sindhu Education Society run by the Sindhi community here on Thursday.

During this, he said that at the time of partition, not due to any compulsion, but people consciously decided to come to India from across the border, because they wanted to live not in Pakistan but in India, where they could practice their religion with complete freedom.

Those people were not refugees, but displaced people. It would be wrong to call them refugees, because they were warriors who fought out of attachment and loyalty to their motherland and their religion.

Bhagwat said that although we all had lost the battle to keep India united, he chose neither career nor property. If he chose anything, it was his country and religion.

He said that we should not kneel before the adverse circumstances of life, but should try to stand up again, because those who consider themselves weak and helpless in front of the circumstances fail, whereas only those who face difficult times and survive them are successful in the end.

He also said that education is important for employment and livelihood, but it should not be the ultimate objective of education. Because even without education, people grow up and hire educated people. The real education to attain wisdom begins at home, where the first teacher is the mother.

RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat said in his address that if the entire human race has to be given the purpose of life, then they have to live not for themselves but for their loved ones, to live with goodness and to teach goodness to everyone. This is considered the way of life here.
