Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan’s Knight Riders Group has made history by establishing its first international-standard cricket stadium outside its home market marking a major milestone in the global expansion of the sport.

The Knight Riders Group, co-owned by Shah Rukh Khan inaugurated the new venue in Los Angeles where it hosted its first Major League Cricket (MLC) match between the Los Angeles Knight Riders and Washington Freedom.

The Knight Riders Cricket Ground has been designed not just as a stadium but as a permanent hub for cricket in Los Angeles.

Built to international standards, the venue features:

• A main square with eight pitches
• ICC-compliant field dimensions
• Six floodlight towers, each standing 120 feet tall

More than 32,000 metric tons of soil were moved during the construction of the project.

Speaking about the achievement, Shah Rukh Khan said, “A dream we envisioned years ago has finally become a reality.” He added that the goal was not only to host cricket matches but also to create a venue where sports, entertainment, families and the community could come together.

Knight Riders Sports CEO Venky Mysore described the project as a key part of the franchise’s global strategy emphasizing that world-class infrastructure is essential for the growth of cricket.

The Knight Riders Group now owns four franchises across three continents: Kolkata Knight Riders, Trinbago Knight Riders, Abu Dhabi Knight Riders and Los Angeles Knight Riders. Collectively, the group has won nine major titles across various cricket leagues.
