A big project is being prepared to promote tourism and entertainment in Delhi. Delhi Development Authority (DDA) has taken steps towards approving the plan to build giant wheels like ‘London Eye’ and ‘Ain Dubai’ in Mayur Vihar District Centre. Under this project, a 35 meter high ‘Delhi Eye’ will be built on about 3.84 acres of land, which is likely to become a major tourist attraction of the capital. This structure will be developed on the lines of the Big Observation Wheel. Apart from this, DDA has also proposed a big project in Rohini Sector-35, where an amusement park will be developed in an area of about 54.7 acres. Various entertainment facilities and attraction centers are planned to be developed in this park. DDA has invited Expression of Interest (EOI) on Tuesday for both these projects, so that they can be developed with the participation of private companies.

Earlier on February 4, the then Lieutenant Governor of Delhi Vinay Kumar Saxena had approved these projects in the DDA meeting. Now the process is moving towards the construction of these projects. The process of further discussion and consultation is underway on the Expression of Interest (EOI) for the proposed ‘Delhi Eye’ at Mayur Vihar District Center and the amusement park to be built in Rohini Sector-34. According to the information, interested parties can discuss and consult about these projects till July 9. After this, the formalities of application and selection will be completed as per the prescribed procedure. Stakeholders can submit their feedback till 5 pm on July 10. After this, the general public and concerned parties will be able to send their opinions on this proposal to DDA till July 17. At the same time, the last date for Expression of Interest (EOI) application for this project has been fixed till 28th July at 5 pm.

55 year license agreement to private companies

DDA has clarified that these projects will be awarded to private companies through the Expression of Interest (EOI) process. According to the plan, selected private companies will be given the responsibility of construction, development and operation of these projects. For this, the companies will have to work under a license agreement of 55 years, which will also include the period of construction. These projects include ‘Delhi Eye’ to be built in Mayur Vihar District Center and the proposed amusement park in Rohini Sector-34.

The view of the capital will be visible from several meters height from ‘Delhi Eye’

The proposed ‘Delhi Eye’ in Delhi is being considered as one of the major tourism projects of Delhi Development Authority. According to officials, an attractive and comprehensive view of Delhi can be seen from a height of several meters from this huge wheel. The objective of this project is to promote tourism in the capital and provide a new experience to citizens and tourists. Under the scheme, it is being developed in such a way that this facility can be made available to the common people at affordable rates.

Planning of water park and several entertainment facilities

The proposed amusement park in Delhi will be developed in Rohini Sector-34 of North West Delhi. According to DDA, many modern recreational facilities will be provided for the citizens in this park. Officials said that there are also plans to build a spectacular water park in this park, where people can enjoy various water-based activities. Apart from this, facilities like big swings and other amusement rides will also be developed in the park.
