Mumbai, 29 June. Mumbai . Gold and silver started with a decline on Monday. Due to this, the price of gold reached Rs 1.44 lakh per 10 grams and the price of silver reached Rs 2.23 lakh. According to the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), the gold contract for August 5, 2026 opened at Rs 1,44,180 per 10 grams as against the previous closing of Rs 1,44,162 per 10 grams. It saw a decline in early trade itself and was at Rs 1,43,655 per 10 grams with a weakness of Rs 507 or 0.35 percent at 9:40 am. In the trade so far, gold has touched a low of Rs 1,43,454 per 10 grams and a high of Rs 1,44,180 per 10 grams, which was also its opening price.

Silver is trading flat compared to gold. The silver contract for September 4, 2026 opened at Rs 2,23,912 per kg, higher than the previous closing of Rs 2,23,472 per kg, but selling was seen in the initial trade. Till the time of writing the news, it was at Rs 2,23,315 per kg with a slight decline of Rs 157 or 0.07 percent. In the trading so far, silver has touched a low of Rs 2,22,641 per kg and a high of Rs 2,24,248 per kg. Gold and silver are trading with a decline in the international markets. On Comex, it was at $ 4,078 an ounce with a weakness of 0.41 percent and silver was at $ 58.52 an ounce with a weakness of 1.18 percent.

According to experts, the reason for the fall in gold and silver is reduced volatility at the global level, strengthening of the dollar index and the possibility of interest rate increases. According to reports, America and Iran have agreed to stop the attacks again and a meeting between the two countries is likely to be held in Qatar on Tuesday. The dollar index continues to remain above 101. The Fed has repeatedly expressed concern over rising inflation, due to which there is a possibility of interest rate increases in the coming months.
