After knocking in 15 districts of Madhya Pradesh, the pace of monsoon has slowed down, however, due to the effect of active weather systems, rain and strong winds continue at different places. The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert in 44 districts and a warning of heavy rain in 5 districts on Tuesday.
A new western disturbance is going to become active on July 2, due to which there is a strong possibility of heavy rains in many areas. It rained in more than 2 dozen districts on Monday. One and a half inches of rain has been recorded in Balaghat, two and a half inches in Shivpuri and more than half an inch in Jabalpur. Khajuraho was the hottest city of the state, where the maximum temperature was recorded at 41.2 degrees Celsius. Apart from this, maximum temperature was recorded at 34.2 degrees in Bhopal, 33.2 degrees in Indore, 35.5 degrees in Ujjain, 38.4 degrees in Jabalpur and 40.3 degrees Celsius in Gwalior.
According to the daily report of Meteorological Center Bhopal, monsoon had entered the state on June 24 and till now it has covered only 15 districts Alirajpur, Indore, Dhar, Harda, Betul, Khandwa, Burhanpur, Khargone, Barwani, Chhindwara, Pandhurna, Seoni, Balaghat, Mandla and Dindori. Although conditions are favorable for further advance of Southwest Monsoon during the next 2-3 days, it is likely to enter Bhopal, Ujjain, Gwalior-Chambal, Sagar, Rewa and Shahdol divisions by the first week of July.
Alert in these districts on Tuesday
- Heavy rainfall, thunderstorm and lightning, gusty winds 40-50 km/h: Betul, Chhindwara, Seoni, Balaghat, Pandhurna. These districts may receive about 4 inches of rain during the next 24 hours.
- Thunderstorm and thunderstorms, moderate to light rainfall with gusty winds 40-50 km/h: Bhopal, Vidisha, Raisen, Sehore, Rajgarh, Narmadapuram, Harda, Burhanpur, Khandwa, Khargone, Barwani, Dhar, Indore, Ujjain, Dewas, Shajapur, Agra, Guna, Ashoknagar, Singrauli, Sidhi, Rewa, Mandla, Satna, Anuppur, Shahdol, Umaria, Dindori, Katni, Jabalpur, Narsinghpur, Mandla, Panna, Damoh, Sagar, Chhatarpur, Tikamgarh, Niwari, Maihar.
Know where and how much rain has fallen so far
Between June 1 and 29, Madhya Pradesh has recorded about 39 percent less rainfall than normal. There should have been an average rainfall of 124.2 mm in the state till now, but till now only 75.7 mm rainfall has been recorded. Eastern Madhya Pradesh has received 68% less water than the average and Western Madhya Pradesh has received 11% less water than the average.
