The Netherlands aim to recover from a disappointing start to their World Cup campaign as they face Sweden this evening in Group F of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The much-anticipated clash between the Netherlands and Sweden will be broadcast live on BBC at 6 PM British time, with the game taking place at the Houston Stadium.

After a frustrating opening match against Japan, Ronald Koeman’s Netherlands side will be desperate to turn things around. Meanwhile, Sweden come into the fixture in scintillating form following their commanding 5-1 victory over Tunisia in their group opener.

The BBC has now confirmed its team of presenters, pundits, and commentators for the broadcast of this Group F encounter at the 2026 World Cup.

Leading the coverage will be the experienced presenter Mark Chapman, who is well-known for his long-standing association with BBC’s Match of the Day. Chapman, who began his broadcasting career nearly three decades ago, has worked across major networks including BBC and Sky Sports, establishing himself as one of the most reliable football presenters on British television.

Joining Chapman on the panel will be Danish coach Thomas Frank, the man who guided Brentford into the Premier League and helped the club achieve its highest-ever top-flight finish. Despite enduring a turbulent season while overseeing Tottenham Hotspur’s decline, Frank remains one of the most respected tacticians in European football.

Former Manchester City defender Micah Richards will also feature as a pundit. Known for his energy and insight, Richards has become a familiar face across football broadcasting, regularly appearing on Sky Sports, the BBC, and CBS coverage.

The third pundit on the panel is England’s former international striker Ellen White, who was an integral part of the Lionesses’ UEFA European Championship triumph. Her experience and understanding of the game will add depth to BBC’s coverage of this high-profile World Cup contest.

In the commentary box, Premier League all-time top scorer Alan Shearer takes on co-commentary duties alongside the accomplished Guy Mowbray, who will serve as the lead commentator. Mowbray made history when he became the youngest commentator ever to call a World Cup final in 1998, aged just 26.

The Netherlands, who were tipped before the tournament by a German economist’s predictive model to win the 2026 World Cup — the same model that correctly forecasted the previous three champions — will be hoping to justify those expectations against a confident Swedish side.

With Mark Chapman leading a star-studded team of analysts and commentators, the BBC’s broadcast promises comprehensive coverage and expert insight into one of Group F’s standout fixtures.
