A 26-year-old young man from Pune had gone to Lohagarh Fort with friends to celebrate his fiancee's birthday. While taking photographs, he lost his balance due to strong wind and fell into a 400 feet deep ditch, due to which he died a painful death.
Lonavala: A 26-year-old man, who had gone trekking with friends to celebrate his fiancee's birthday, died tragically. This accident happened on Thursday morning in the historical Lohagarh Fort located in Pune district of Maharashtra. The young man was standing on the edge of a rock and getting photographed, when a strong gust of wind caused him to lose his balance and he fell into a 400 feet deep gorge.

The deceased has been identified as 26-year-old Ketan Vishal Agarwal, resident of Gahunje area of Pune. Ketan was a director in his family's real estate business. He had gone to Lohagarh Fort on Thursday morning with his fiancee and two close friends to celebrate her upcoming birthday.
Inspector Dinesh Tayde of Lonavala Rural Police Station said that around 10:30 in the morning, Ketan was getting photographs clicked in the beautiful foggy background near a steep cliff of the fort. There was a very strong wind blowing there at that time. Due to the wind, Ketan lost his balance and fell into a deep ditch. His fiancee and friends watched all this helplessly.
Ketan was going to get married in a few months. According to the police, their marriage was fixed in the coming month of November and for this, both the families had together booked a famous palace in Udaipur, Rajasthan.
As soon as information about the accident was received, police and members of 'Shivdurg Mitra Emergency Rescue Team' reached the spot and started a difficult rescue operation. Due to the terrain being very dense and rocky, the team had to work hard. After about three hours of hard work, the rescue team was able to take out Ketan's body from the ditch. The body has been sent to the hospital for postmortem. Police have registered a case of accidental death and started further investigation. Let us tell you that Lohagarh Fort is one of the 12 major forts of Maharashtra associated with Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, which have been included in the UNESCO World Heritage List.
