The National Rifle Association of India (NRAI) has announced a remarkable achievement for the Indian team at the ISSF Junior World Championship 2026 held in Suhl, Germany. On the second day of the event, Indian shooters secured five additional medals.
Individual Events Showcase Talent
In the 25m Rapid Fire Pistol Men Junior category, Sameer showcased exceptional skill, clinching the gold medal with an impressive total of 28 hits in the final, as reported by the NRAI.
Rohit Kanyan also shone brightly, winning gold in the 50m Rifle 3 Positions Men Junior event, further enhancing India's medal prospects.
Additionally, Prachi Gaikwad earned a silver medal in the 50m Rifle 3 Positions Women Junior event, finishing with a score of 354.7.
Team Events Yield Bronze Medals
The Indian team continued to excel in team events, securing a bronze medal in the 50m Rifle 3 Positions Men Junior Team competition. The team, consisting of Rohit Kanyan, Vedant Nitin Waghmare, and Hithesh Srinivasan, performed admirably to earn a podium finish.
Another bronze was achieved in the 25m Rapid Fire Pistol Men Junior Team event, with Sameer, Abhinav Choudhary, and Sahil Choudhary contributing to the team's success.
India Dominates the Medal Tally
With five medals on the second day, India's overall medal count at the ISSF Junior World Championship 2026 has reached eight, comprising 4 Gold, 1 Silver, and 3 Bronze. This impressive performance has solidified India's position at the top of the medal tally, showcasing consistent excellence in both individual and team events.
