Onion Paratha Recipe: Light, tasty and quick breakfast is everyone’s favorite during the summer season. In such a situation, onion paratha can prove to be a great option. It is very tasty to eat and does not require much ingredients to make it. If some simple things are kept in mind, then onion paratha can be prepared easily without tearing.
Necessary Materials
- 2 cups wheat flour
- 2 finely chopped onions
- 2 finely chopped green chillies
- finely chopped coriander
- ½ tsp celery
- ½ tsp red chilli powder
- ½ tsp dry mango powder or chaat masala
- salt as per taste
- Ghee or oil as required
- Method of preparing dough
First of all, take wheat flour in a big vessel. Add some salt and one spoon oil to it and mix well. If you want, you can also add celery. Now slowly add water and knead a soft dough. Cover the dough and keep it aside for about 10 minutes.
Prepare the Stuffing
Add chopped onions, green chillies and green coriander in a bowl. Add red chilli powder, celery and dry mango powder or chaat masala and mix well. Add salt while stuffing, so that excess water does not come out of the onions.
How to make Paratha
Make equal sized balls of the kneaded dough. Roll out a ball and place the prepared onion mixture in the middle. Now sprinkle some salt on top and close it from all sides and give it a bundle like shape. Roll out the paratha carefully with the help of dry flour by pressing gently.

Put the paratha on the hot pan and cook it lightly from both the sides. After this, apply ghee or oil and bake on medium flame until it becomes golden and crisp. When the paratha is cooked well, take it out from the pan. Serve hot onion paratha with curd, pickle, green chutney or tea and enjoy the taste.
