Real Madrid president Florentino Pérez has made headlines once again by revealing ambitious plans for a record-breaking transfer worth €150 million. Speaking on the television show Horizonte, Pérez declared that the club is ready to make one of the biggest signings in its history.
As the current president prepares for the upcoming Real Madrid elections, he has been showcasing his determination to strengthen the squad. According to Pérez, several significant transfers have already been completed, but he hinted that an even bigger announcement is on the horizon.
Pérez confirmed that Real Madrid will soon submit a €150 million offer for a player he described as “a superstar on a par with Cristiano Ronaldo”. He also dismissed speculation linking the club to Manchester City’s Norwegian striker, insisting, “Erling Haaland is not the target.”
He emphasised that this transfer is a top priority for the club and will be finalised quickly. Pérez said, “On Tuesday, I will present a major offer to a top Champions League club for a player who would represent the most significant signing in Madrid’s history. The fee will be not less than €150 million.”
In addition to this, Pérez confirmed the acquisitions of José Mourinho as the new manager, Liverpool centre-back Ibrahima Konaté, and Inter Milan right-back Denzel Dumfries. He also mentioned that the club is planning further reinforcements in several other positions, outlining a clear strategy for the next phase of Real Madrid’s squad building.
“The offer is for a player of the calibre of Cristiano Ronaldo or Kaka. He’s a true Galactico… Of course, we’re talking about someone who plays from midfield upwards. It’s not Haaland. First, we’ll talk with the club. Let me make it clear — he’s not from the Premier League. We’ll make our bid and see how it develops,” Pérez added.
During his appearance, Pérez methodically denied rumours surrounding multiple high-profile players, including Erling Haaland, to clarify the club’s true transfer targets. By doing this, he directly refuted claims made by rival candidate Enrique Riquelme, who had suggested that the Norwegian forward was already secured. Pérez also ruled out Michael Olise, Jeremy Doku, and Harry Kane, while confirming that no transfer talks would take place with FC Barcelona for any player.
With Kylian Mbappé and Vinicius Júnior already leading the attack, many have questioned whether Real Madrid truly needs another expensive forward. Pérez responded simply, “In Madrid, you’re always hungry for more.”
There is growing speculation that Real Madrid’s next major signing could come from Paris Saint-Germain. Currently, Jude Bellingham holds the record as the club’s most expensive signing, after joining from Borussia Dortmund for €103 million, a fee that could rise to €127 million with performance bonuses. This surpassed the amounts previously paid for Eden Hazard, Gareth Bale, and Cristiano Ronaldo.
Among the names being linked with the club are Joao Neves, Vitinha, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, and Désiré Doué — all currently playing for Paris Saint-Germain. As the anticipation builds, fans are eager to see who will become the newest Galactico at the Santiago Bernabéu.
