Everton and Brighton are reportedly preparing to compete for the signing of Torino midfielder Cesare Casadei, who has enjoyed a breakthrough season in Serie A. The young Italian has revived Premier League interest just a year after leaving Chelsea permanently.

Premier League clubs reignite pursuit of Casadei

Casadei has once again emerged as a key target for English sides following his successful spell in Italy. The 23-year-old midfielder has impressed both Everton and Brighton, as per reports from Tuttosport, with both clubs closely following his development after a string of commanding performances for Torino. His ability to quickly adapt to life back in Italy has reaffirmed the promise he showed during his early career.

The interest from Everton and Brighton comes as no surprise, given Casadei’s consistent contributions in one of Europe’s most tactically demanding competitions. Having previously come through Chelsea’s academy and spent time on loan at Leicester City, he is already familiar with the physical and competitive nature of English football. Reports suggest both clubs are keeping a close watch on his progress as they aim to strengthen their midfield options ahead of the upcoming transfer window.

Midfielder shines in Turin with standout season

Since sealing a €13 million move from Chelsea to Torino in February last year, Casadei has cemented his place as a regular starter. He has thrived under pressure in Serie A, becoming integral to Torino’s tactical setup. With 33 appearances and six goals to his name this season, his performances reflect a midfielder maturing into his full potential.

His coach has also lauded his influence on the pitch. Roberto D’Aversa commented, “Casadei can change the course of a game, one like [Giovanni] Simeone few people have,” underlining the special qualities he brings to the squad.

Torino’s firm position on potential transfer

Despite the mounting interest from England, Torino are reluctant to part ways with their valued player. Having invested significantly in him just over a year ago, the club view the Italian U21 international as a central figure in their long-term project. They are unwilling to enter talks unless an exceptional offer is made that far exceeds their initial outlay.

The Turin-based club would prefer to continue developing the midfielder domestically to further raise his market value. Any transfer consideration will depend on receiving a bid that surpasses the €13 million they paid Chelsea, as Torino aim to maximise their return on investment.

Casadei’s stance on a potential Premier League return

For Casadei himself, there is currently no urgency to move. His final spell at Chelsea was challenging, as he struggled to secure first-team minutes in a crowded squad. His move to Torino has allowed him to rebuild confidence and gain regular playing time—a goal he has achieved successfully. After scoring in the Turin derby against Juventus, he said, “I unlocked myself as the minutes went by,” reflecting his growing assurance in high-pressure situations.

Although the Premier League continues to hold strong appeal for young Italian players, Casadei appears content with his current progress in Serie A. He reportedly welcomed his return to Italy after a demanding period in London. Whether Brighton or Everton can persuade him that now is the right time for a second stint in England remains uncertain, but interest in his signature is undoubtedly intensifying.
