Donald Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner’s luxury resort project in Albania. The protests are increasing as time goes by. Thousands of people have descended on the streets of the capital Tirana. It is reported that the police fired water cannons to disperse the crowd. All in all, the situation is very dire!

But what is the source of the controversy? Why the controversy surrounding Kushner’s resort? In fact, the $1.6 billion mega project has plans for a huge resort with 10,000 rooms. Environmentalists claim that as a result of this project, the local wetlands and forest ecosystems will be severely damaged. Nesting sites for flamingos, seals and sea turtles in particular will be destroyed.

Even in this situation, Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama is speaking in favor of the project. He made it clear that he will not allow this investment to stop while he is in power. He is rather appealing to the countrymen to welcome this project. On the other hand, the chairman of Real Estate Development LLC, a partner of Kushner’s organization, assured that the project will not harm the environment in any way. However, despite such assurances, environmentalists are adamant in their demands. As a result, public anger is increasing. It was seen that many of the protesters were carrying flamingo-shaped toys. Their demand is that the project should be stopped anyway.

Note that Kushner announced this project for the first time in 2024. Since then, the controversy started to intensify. Which has now become widespread. Earlier, he announced a similar project in Belgrade, the capital of Serbia. However, the project had to be canceled in the face of strong protests from the local people of Seva. Now let’s see where things go in this case. So far, nothing has been announced by Kushner and the company.
